Every bottle is a tale of the Land.
Agricola Paglione is located in the heart of Puglia, in Lucera, in the splendid panorama of the Monti Dauni and the Tavoliere delle Puglie. Three generations of the Faccilongo family are involved in the company: grandfather Nicola, who, despite his age, still takes care of the vineyards every day, his son Beniamino, who believed in the expansion of the project, and the grandson Nicola, who’s keeping high the traditional values of the family and the territory.
The vine parcels are rooted in a terroir of calcareous origin with the presence of gravel and stones. The vines arise in a unique ecosystem, enriched by the presence of olive trees, fruit trees, wheat and tomatoes, that the family also transforms with dedication and care, and that enrich the scents of the grapes in a unique way.
Since 1994, the estate has worked completely under a certified organic regime. Nero di Troia, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Malvasia Bianca and Bombino Bianco, grapes that find a particularly successful expression through the vision of the Faccilongo and the wisdom of their enologist Cristiano Chiloiro.
In the vineyard as in the cellar they work exclusively by hand, without invasive interventions or chemicals. Plants are protected from disease with small amounts of copper and sulfur. In the cellar the wines are not clarified or filtered to let the grapes and the territory characterize the wine without modifications. The grapes are harvested by hand, after a careful selection, destemmed and left to ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts.
The wines of Agricola Paglione are intense, pure expression of the terroir, some incredibly elegant, all of extreme quality.
