About 'Lulu' by Patrick Bouju & Justine Loiseau of La Bòheme

With an iconic natural wine like this, where to start? Lulu is one of the estate wines from Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau's La Bohème, and trust us when we say it's outstanding! Made from their own Gamay d'Auvergne grapes, from an 80-year-old vineyard in Corent on basalt soils. Farmed biodynamically with traditional horse-drawn work. Whole cluster maceration, vinified with zero additives, and aged for one year in amphora and tank.

This is a red where Auvergne's volcanic soils come through in full force—gorgeous minerality balanced by dark berry fruit and elegant spice. A truly excellent natural wine.
