Stefan Buchmayer belongs to a young generation of Austrian winemakers who are rethinking natural wine with a fresh perspective and their own distinctive style. After several years of experience in viticulture, he launched his own project – with the clear goal of creating wines that uncompromisingly reflect their terroir. He is now cultivating 2,5 hectares of biodynamic vineyards that have been part of his family’s legacy for generations. 

His focus is on old vines, which he cultivates in traditional, partly forgotten vineyard sites. For him, it is precisely these deeply rooted vines that most authentically bring the history and character of the soil into the bottle.

In the cellar, Stefan deliberately follows his own path: some wines ferment with skin contact or partial skin contact, while others are pressed directly. At the center is always the intention to highlight the individuality of each site – pure, vibrant, and honest.

All wines come from biodynamically farmed, Demeter-certified vineyards Hand-harvested, bottled unfiltered, and only minimally sulfured. Stefan Buchmayer stands for a modern approach to natural wine – close to nature, precise, and with a clear signature style.
