JC (Jean Claude) 2023
Grenache Blanc from 65-year-old vines on calcareous soil in the Herault Valley. Direct pressing of the grapes without destemming, selection of the best juice from the second pressing, gravity-bottled, ages on lees for two months, then is disgorged by hand. It has a fine, rich, and complex nose of pear, citrus, anise, and notes of bread crust. It hits the palate straight away like a Jean Claude Van Damme kick. Fresh, mineral, with a taut, creamy mouthfeel and a very persistent bubble. Deep, like Van Damme's famous splits.
